Portfolio Memories of Venice, Vilnius and Berlin

Treigys is interested in the light of uncertain origin, which crawls along the surface of the photographed object and sometimes destroys the form itself. The names of particular locations are never given, allowing the scratches, dots, dashes and toning to provides the image with additional information.

The cities in the images, Berlin, Venice, Vilnius are not home to the artist, becoming spaces where he is a passer-by. The smells, sounds, time, and sentiments are reduced to photographic memory, preserved in the film.

There is no human presence within the images, the urban space is reduced to scenography, a space where existence is sensed, if only through the presence behind the camera. In the work of Treigys, time is collapsed, the images might be of the past, the present, or the future.
